Signature Events & Leadership Programs

The Niculia “Nikki” Williams Education & Equity Foundation brings its mission to life through signature events and leadership experiences that celebrate achievement, invest in emerging leaders, expand opportunity, and strengthen community. Each gathering reflects Nikki Williams' lifelong belief in education, service, faith, leadership, and the potential of young people.

01 / Signature event

Women's Leadership Breakfast

Celebrating Women. Investing in Leadership. Building Legacy.

The Foundation's annual Women's Leadership Breakfast brings together women leaders, emerging professionals, community advocates, educators, entrepreneurs, and allies for a morning of inspiration, recognition, mentorship, and connection.

Each year, the Foundation will present three Women's Leadership Recognition Awards honoring women whose leadership and service are making a meaningful difference in their professions and communities.

The Breakfast will also introduce the year's Niculia “Nikki” Williams Leadership Fellows. At least two Fellows will be selected annually and will each receive a Leadership Development Award of at least $7,500 to support their professional and personal growth.

Women's Leadership Recognition Awards

Each year at the Women's Leadership Breakfast, the Niculia “Nikki” Williams Education & Equity Foundation will recognize three exceptional women whose leadership, service, and commitment to others reflect the values that defined Nikki Williams' life and legacy.

The Niculia “Nikki” Williams Legacy Leadership Award

For distinguished, sustained leadership and service

The Foundation's highest women's leadership honor, presented to a woman whose career and community service demonstrate an enduring commitment to leadership, expanding opportunity, and improving the lives of others.

Community Impact & Service Award

For leadership that strengthens communities

Presented to a woman whose leadership, advocacy, professional work, or volunteer service has produced meaningful impact in her community, particularly on behalf of individuals and families who have historically faced barriers to opportunity.

Emerging Women's Leadership Award

For the next generation of women leaders

Presented to an emerging woman leader who demonstrates exceptional promise, initiative, service, and commitment to making a difference in her profession or community. The award recognizes a woman who is still building her leadership journey while already demonstrating the potential to create lasting impact.

Together, these awards recognize the continuum of women's leadership—from emerging promise, to community impact, to an enduring legacy of leadership and service.

02 / Leadership pathway

Leadership Development Awards / Niculia “Nikki” Williams Leadership Fellowship

The Breakfast will also introduce the year's Niculia “Nikki” Williams Leadership Fellows. At least two Fellows will be selected annually and will each receive a Leadership Development Award of at least $7,500 to support their professional and personal growth.

Leadership Development Awards may support experiences such as:

  • Executive and nonprofit leadership training
  • Professional certifications and continuing education
  • Conferences, institutes, and leadership academies
  • Graduate or professional coursework
  • Executive, career, or leadership coaching
  • Public speaking and communications training
  • Professional association memberships and networking opportunities
  • Educational travel and leadership exchanges
  • Technology, books, and professional development resources
  • Development of a community service or social-impact project

The Fellowship is designed to provide more than financial support. Fellows become part of a community committed to leadership, service, and creating opportunities for others.

03 / Leadership experience

Niculia “Nikki” Williams Leadership Fellows Retreat

Learning to Lead. Preparing to Serve.

Each Fellowship cohort will participate in the Foundation's annual two-day Leadership Fellows Retreat, an intensive learning and relationship-building experience focused on developing the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills necessary to lead organizations and communities.

Sessions may explore nonprofit leadership and governance, strategic planning, fundraising and philanthropy, financial stewardship, community engagement, public speaking, negotiation, advocacy, career development, personal leadership, and building sustainable organizations.

Fellows will learn from nonprofit executives, educators, entrepreneurs, public officials, community leaders, and other professionals while developing relationships with mentors and one another.

The Retreat reflects a simple principle at the heart of the Foundation's work: leadership should be cultivated, supported, and passed forward.

04 / Annual celebration

Annual Legacy & Scholarship Dinner

Honoring the Past. Investing in the Future.

Held annually during Black History Month, the Niculia “Nikki” Williams Legacy & Scholarship Dinner will be the Foundation's principal celebration of education, community achievement, and intergenerational legacy.

The evening will recognize the life and values of Niculia “Nikki” Williams while celebrating students, educators, community leaders, families, and organizations working to expand opportunity.

A centerpiece of the evening will be the presentation of the Foundation's annual scholarships to deserving students pursuing their educational goals.

The Dinner will also serve as the Foundation's principal annual fundraising event, building the Legacy Fund that supports scholarships, leadership development, and special projects throughout the year.

By gathering during Black History Month, the Foundation celebrates not only the accomplishments of the past, but also the responsibility to invest in the generations who will write the next chapters.

Any fundraising activity associated with the Dinner will be conducted subject to applicable legal and tax requirements.

05 / Youth experience

Nikki's Future Leaders Day

Dream Bigger. Discover Possibilities. Lead Forward.

Nikki's Future Leaders Day is an annual experience created especially for children, teenagers, and young adults. The event introduces young people to educational pathways, careers, leadership, service, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, health and wellness, and possibilities they may not otherwise have had an opportunity to explore.

The day will combine inspiration with hands-on learning through age-appropriate workshops, career exploration, interactive activities, mentoring conversations, college and career information, and opportunities to meet professionals from a wide range of fields.

Programming may include:

  • College and career exploration
  • STEM, health, law, business, arts, and public-service career exposure
  • Financial literacy and entrepreneurship
  • Leadership and communication skills
  • Health, wellness, and sports activities
  • College preparation and financial-aid information
  • Mentoring and networking for teens and young adults
  • Community service and civic engagement
  • Special programming focused on girls' leadership and development

Young people should leave Future Leaders Day with something more important than information: a larger sense of what is possible for their lives.

The event embodies Nikki Williams' longstanding commitment to young people and the Foundation's belief that talent is everywhere—even when opportunity is not.

06 / Continuing legacy

Three Signature Events. One Continuing Legacy.

Through the Women's Leadership Breakfast, Legacy & Scholarship Dinner, and Nikki's Future Leaders Day, the Foundation creates three annual opportunities to celebrate leadership, invest in education, connect generations, and strengthen community.

Together with the Niculia “Nikki” Williams Leadership Fellowship and Fellows Retreat, these programs transform Nikki's legacy into continuing opportunities for others.

A legacy made useful.
